Petrobras is making plans to appraise later this year a pair of potentially big pre-salt discoveries made in the Campos and Santos basins offshore Brazil.
The Brazilian state-controlled company detected traces of oil in the Curacao prospect drilled in the Aram area and unlocked a new oil accumulation in the north-western section of the giant Alto de Cabo Frio Central block.
Both exploration wells were drilled by the Constellation Oil Services drillship Brava Star in water depths close to 2000 metres.
