Brazilian state-controlled company Petrobras has approached the market with a new tender to contract a fresh batch of electro-hydraulic umbilicals to attend six offshore fields in the Campos and Santos basins.
Industry sources told Upstream that Petrobras invited subsea players including TechnipFMC, Aker Solutions, MFX, Prysmian and Oceaneering — through its subsidiary Marine Production System — to submit commercial bids on 14 February.
Petrobras is looking to acquire as much as 124.3 kilometres of thermoplastic umbilicals (TPUs) and steel tube umbilicals (STUs), as well as associated equipment to serve both post-salt and pre-salt developments offshore Brazil.
