Thailand’s PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) has approached the market with a request for potential offshore contractors to express their interest in the next development phase of its flagship Zawtika project in the Gulf of Moattama offshore Myanmar.

The operator recently sent expression-of-interest letters to about a dozen Asian offshore contractors for an upcoming tender for delivering facilities surrounding the Zawtika Phase 2A development, Upstream has learned.

Contractors that have responded to PTTEP include Cuel of Thailand, Thai Nippon Steel, Sapura Energy of Malaysia, China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), Indonesia's Gunanusa Utama Fabricators, Saipem of Italy, PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) and India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T), according to several industry sources.
