South Korea’s Samsung appears to have the upper hand in the two-way race to win the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the onshore gas plant for UK supermajor Shell’s Rosmari-Marjoram giant sour gas development offshore Sarawak, East Malaysia.

Samsung Engineering and compatriot Hyundai Engineering & Construction (HEC) performed parallel front-end engineering and design studies for the onshore gas plant to be built near Bintulu, with the winning FEED study expected to be awarded the lucrative EPC workscope.
