At least four leading international engineering, procurement and construction players are poised to compete for a sizeable offshore contract from Saudi Aramco for its Abu Safah oilfield.

Two people familiar with the tender process said the Saudi Arabian state-owned giant recently launched the chase for the offshore maintenance contract — also known as Contract Release & Purchase Order 97 (CRPO 97) with bids likely to be submitted by the end of this month.

The offshore contract on offer is a part of Aramco’s coveted long-term agreement (LTA) with 10 leading international consortia or contractors, which involves brownfield and maintenance work on all of the country’s offshore fields.
