Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell is progressing its Rosmari-Marjoram gas field development offshore Sarawak, Malaysia, with major engineering, procurement and construction contracts due to be awarded.

The project will comprise an offshore platform, subsea infrastructure including an export pipeline and an onshore plant able to handle 800 million cubic feet per day of gas.

The nation’s two leading offshore fabricators — Sapura Energy and Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering (MMHE) — are in a bid clarification phase with Shell for the contract to build and install the 8000-tonne wellhead platform, said Kuala Lumpur-based sources.
