Singapore's government has approached the market for an accommodation barge for use as a floating hospital to be deployed offshore the city state in part to quarantine and treat people infected with Covid-19.

The island nation, via an agency understood to be an airport operator in the Philippines, last month launched a tender for the provision of the barge for a three-year charter period.
