TotalEnergies has delayed a decision on sanctioning development of the Halfdan North and Valdemar Bo South fields in the Danish sector of the North Sea.

The company earlier said the Danish Underground Consortium, a group of companies that it leads, had planned to reach a final investment decision around the end of this year.

However, a spokesperson confirmed this week that this will not now happen.

The decision is due to the “current business outlook”, the spokesman said, without elaborating on the reasons, or on when the projects are expected to be sanctioned.
