A pair of contractors has submitted commercial bids in a Petrobras tender to contract a new seismic programme covering the Barracuda and Caratinga fields in the Campos basin offshore Brazil.

The Brazilian oil giant wants a proprietary 4D streamer survey to be carried out at the two fields starting next year.

Well-informed sources told Upstream that Norwegian seismic player PGS emerged on top with a proposal worth 589 million reais ($110 million) to run the campaign.

PGS edged out compatriot Shearwater GeoServices, which offered 739 million reais for the Barracuda-Caratinga seismic job.
