Ongoing delays in awarding a major contract for a floating production, storage and offloading vessel are plaguing the Limbayong oil project — Petronas’ first deep-water oilfield development in its home country, Malaysia.

The delays are leading to market conjecture about Petronas’ ability to proceed with the project.

In February this year, the Malaysian operator received just one solitary bid in, at least, its third attempt to secure an FPSO contractor for Limbayong.
