Malaysian floater specialist Yinson Holdings is finalising its decision to select a yard to upgrade the floating production, storage and offloading vessel it has earmarked for a potential contract on Enauta's Altanta field in the Santos basin offshore Brazil.

Asian contracting sources told Upstream that among the competing yards for the upgrade of the OSX-2 FPSO, Dubai-based yard Drydocks World is favoured, while rivals from China are not.

Sources said Drydocks World has an edge over the Chinese yards as it is closer geographically to the current location of the OSX-2 FPSO, which has been warm-stacked at the Karimun Besar Island offshore Indonesia since 2015.
