Huarun Dadong Dockyard appears to be in pole position for a contract from Malaysian floater specialist Yinson Holdings to convert the hull for the floating production, storage and offloading vessel for Eni’s Agogo project offshore Angola.

Asian contracting sources told Upstream that the Shanghai-based marine and offshore yard has elbowed out rivals Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry and CIMC Raffles for the job, as it has offered a very competitive price.

“The workscope involves repair and conversion of a very large crude carrier and building living quarters,” one source familiar with the matter said.
