Canadian explorer Africa Oil Corporation has withdrawn the force majeure it declared on two blocks in Kenya's Lokichar basin.

The company, part of the Lundin Group, decalred force majeure at blocks 10BB and 13T on 15 May following restrictions on movement imposed in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic and the introduction of tax changes on 25 April.

However, the Nasdaq-Stockholm Toronto-listed company today said it is lifting the the force majeure notices following "an improvement in Covid 19 restrictions worldwide and the resumption of local and international flights" that allowed work to restart on the acreage.
