Angola’s National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) will next week will hold an inaugural roadshow for its ongoing 2020 bid round, as interest in the acreage on offer continues to grow.

A hybrid virtual and physical roadshow for Angola's current (2020) licensing round is now scheduled for 12 April in at the Talatona Convention Centre in the capital Luanda, after a six-day delay.

The acreage on offer in Angola’s 2020 bid round comprises blocks CON1, CON5 and CON6 in the lower Congo onshore basin and blocks KON5, KON6, KON8, KON9, KON17 and KON20 in the Kwanza basin.

ANGP will work towards awarding more than 50 exploration blocks from deep waters to shallow basins through 2025.

Next week's event will provide the opportunity for investors to engage with the agency regarding the blocks on offer, data packages and accessibility studies, as well as touching on environmental, logistical and local content issues.

This will kickstart a series of both digital and in-person roadshows in key international markets and technical presentations to promote the blocks on offer.

Upstream regulator ANPG earlier said bidders will have until 30 April to access data rooms and bids for acreage must be submitted by 9 June, with proposals to be opened the following day. Contracts are forecast to be signed on 22 November.
