Regional authorities in Xinjiang Uygur, China have invited bids for five more onshore exploration blocks in Xinjiang.

The Xinjiang Natural Resources Administration, which is heading up the bidding process, has released the names and sizes of the five blocks but no other details.

The blocks are Shache (1111 square kilometres), Yuepuhu (902 square kilometres), Shacha 2 (864.065 square kilometres), Jiashi (236 square kilometres) and Qigexin (215 square kilometres).

The initial exploration period for this latest offering will last for five years, with the option for multiple five-year extensions.
