Eni has stepped up its efforts to help Kazakhstan fight the spread of Covid-19 infection in the major oil and gas-producing nation.
The Italian player, which is a partner in the giant Kashagan and Karachaganak developments in Kazakhstan, has recently donated medical equipment including nine ventilators and an oxygen generator to intensive care units in the Aktobe, Atyrau and West Kazakhstan regions.
This follows on from other medical supplies provided by the European major since the coronavirus pandemic started early last year, including face masks, intensive care medical equipment and personal protective equipment.
Since the start of the pandemic, Eni has contributed more than 270 million tenge ($650,000) to Kazakhstan’s effort to fight the spread of the Covid-19 disease.
Eni is joint operator of the Karachaganak field and is also a stakeholder in the giant Kashagan development in the Caspian Sea.
