Italian major Eni has spudded a deepwater wildcat offshore Cyprus, as it resumes an exploration campaign that had been delayed by the global pandemic.
The Milan-based player is a key exploration player in Cypriot waters, operating exploration blocks 2, 3, 6 and 9, while TotalEnergies controls blocks 7, 8 and 11 and ExxonMobil operates blocks 5 and 10.
The US giant recently completed an appraisal well on its 5 trillion to 8 trillion cubic foot Glaucus gas discovery in Block 10, immediately south of Block 6.
