ExxonMobil has started a new exploration campaign in Guyanese waters, targeting another structure in the giant Stabroek block.

It spudded the Patwa-1 wildcat with the Noble Corporation drillship Noble Sam Croft on 21 January, according to the Maritime Administration Department.

ExxonMobil has already discovered recoverable resources of 10 billion barrels of oil equivalent in Stabroek and has sanctioned four floating production, storage and offloading vessels to be deployed in the area.
