US supermajor ExxonMobil is set to spud a high-profile appraisal well offshore Cyprus, apparently shrugging off protests against the operations lodged by Turkey, due to territorial claims over the zone in question.
“We are very happy that we will be spudding another well in Cyprus in a couple of weeks. This will tell us more about an initial discovery made a couple of years ago,” said Mike Cousins, ExxonMobil’s senior vice-president for exploration & new ventures.
