US supermajor ExxonMobil has teamed up with Angola's state-owned Sonangol P&P to secure three deep-water blocks in the country's unexplored Namibe basin.

Angola's National Oil, Gas & Biofuels Agency (ANPG) said on Monday that the duo have signed three risk service agreements (RSAs) for acreage covering a total area of more than 17,800 square kilometres.

The RSAs cover blocks 30, 44 and 45, which are located between 50 and 100 kilometres offshore and in water depths ranging from 1500 to in excess of 3000 metres.
