Italian major Eni and Ghanaian independent Springfield E&P have been directed by Ghana's Energy Minister John Peter Amewu to accept immediate imposition of a unitisation agreement to develop offshore oil and gas reserves in the Tano basin.
It follows months of inertia as both companies have been able to come to an accord concerning their discoveries off the West African producer.
Eni will become operator of the newly unitised Afina-Sankofa field with a minority 45.455%
