Anglo-Dutch giant Shell has spudded its high-profile Graff-1 wildcat offshore Namibia, targeting a billion barrels of oil.

The Valaris DS-10 drillship arrived on location on 11 December and has now spudded the probe in Block 2913A.

The Graff-1 well started drilling just two weeks after TotalEnergies spudded its equally high-profile Venus-1 wildcat which is located some 70 kilometres to the northwest in adjacent Block 2913B.
