Australia’s offshore regulator has given the green light for 3D Oil to carry out a 3D seismic survey near the Dorado oilfield, off Western Australia.
The National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema) has accepted 3D Oil’s environment plan for the Sauropod 3D marine seismic survey over WA-527-P, in the offshore Roebuck basin.
The acquisition area covers roughly 3500 square kilometres, with the survey aimed at determining potential drilling targets that may be trapped by a Triassic erosional channel system in the south-west of the permit,
