India is expected to soon launch its third discovered small fields (DSF) bid round in what is expected to be the country's largest ever such offering, encompassing existing oil and gas discoveries.

The DSF rounds, devised under a 2015 policy, form an important part of helping India reduce its dependence on energy imports in order to bolster its energy security.

SCL Das, director general of Indian upstream regulator, the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH), said at the CERAWeek by IHS Markit virtual conference on Tuesday that the so-called DSF-3 round is likely to be soon offered to potential investors.
