The head of Brazilian independent Enauta has called for Brazil to step up its offering of upstream acreage through the country's open-door licensing round system, especially in the prolific pre-salt province.

Enauta's chief executive Decio Oddone told an audience at Rio Oil & Gas that the 'permanent round' system was the most flexible and effective way of attracting investments to Brazil as the country moved past the period of multiple mega-discoveries in the pre-salt.

"Perhaps we have moved past the era of big licensing rounds," he said.
