A task force has submitted a report with some 50 recommendations to the Newfoundland & Labrador government in Canada in an effort to turn around the fortunes of the province's ailing but essential oil and gas sector.
Last year, the Atlantic Ocean province — whose economy is heavily reliant on the oil and gas sector — was hit hard by the oil price collapse and the coronavirus pandemic, and witnessed multiple projects shelved, exploration canned, jobs lost and key oil companies hinting they could exit the region.
