'Our doors are very open': Sudan to launch bid round weeks after US sanctions lifted

Sudan, fresh from US sanctions being lifted in December, is ready to launch its second licensing round covering at least 25 exploration blocks in late 2021.

However, the Khartoum authorities are keen to accelerate this initiative and ahead of the official acreage launch will talk directly to potential investors about any upstream investments — including farm-ins to producing oilfields — as Sudan strives to revitalise its long-neglected upstream sector.
