Nigerian independent Oranto Petroleum is hunting partners to explore two undrilled blocks offshore Senegal that could hold resources topping 2.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent.

This acreage lies adjacent to and directly east of BP’s major deep-water Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) liquefied natural gas project and the supermajor’s Yakaar-Teranga discovery, which is close to being put on a development track.

Oranto – an upstream player controlled by Prince Arthur Eze – has held the two blocks in partnership with state-owned Petrosen, since 2008 for Cayar Shallow and since 2015 for St Louis Shallow.
