Brazilian state-controlled company Petrobras has made two fresh oil discoveries in the pre-salt province off the country, potentially adding more reserves to the giant Buzios and Albacora fields.

Drilling of the 9-BUZ-39DA-RJS well in the south-eastern area of Buzios encountered oil with the same quality as the crude currently being produced in the field via the P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77 floating production, storage and offloading vessels.

The Santos basin campaign is taking place in 2104 metres of water with the Ocyan drillship ODN I.
