The Bay of Bengal shoot, which is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2021, will be performed by the vessel SW Vespucci.

The survey will cover 1500 square kilometres on Block KG-UDWHP-2018/1 in the Krishna-Godavari basin.

Shearwater’s contract workscope — the value of which was not disclosed — also includes fast-track time processing of the acquired data.

“We are pleased to be awarded this contract by Reliance and add to our backlog for the winter season,” Shearwater GeoServices chef executive Irene Waage Basili said on Monday.

“Shearwater crews have remained busy in India throughout the year and this award is a confirmation of our leading market position and strong operational track record in the region.”
