A new oil discovery has been disclosed onshore western Kazakhstan following the testing of an exploration well, state-owned KazMunaiGaz (KMG) said. "The...oil inflow with a rate of up to 100 cubic metres a day at 12 millimetre fittings (was) obtained...from exploration well BV-1 in Bekturly East prospect from the Middle Jurassic interval. In addition, oil was obtained while sampling other objects in the Middle and Lower Jurassic, (and) signs of hydrocarbons were shown in Triassic sediments" , the company said. Geophysical and hydrodynamic studies were already underway for additional information.
