TGS is set to resume later this year a major 3D seismic survey off Argentina that was put on hold amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Oslo-listed contractor said in a statement the Malvinas survey, covering an area of 17,800 square kilometres in the prospective Malvinas basin south-west of the Falkland Islands, is set to restart in the fourth quarter.

The survey, launched in the fourth quarter of 2019, was originally due to be wrapped up by mid-May this year but was suspended as quarantine and travel restrictions due to the pandemic led to crewing and other logistical challenges.
