Results of the Buffalo-10 oil appraisal well offshore Timor-Leste are inconclusive, with the joint venture reporting a small oil discovery but with unresolved issues.
The operator Carnarvon Energy said the well was drilled to a total depth of 3415 metres in an 8.5-inch hole section.
Observations from logging while drilling tools have identified the primary reservoir has been intersected, with indications of hydrocarbons as anticipated in the Elang formation.
The top of the Elang was intersected about 80 metres lower than prognosis and was outside the pre-drill range of expectations.
