France's Total is considering a plan to drill a wildcat on a huge prospect off South Africa as soon as next year in a virgin zone of the block where it made its significant Brulpadda gas and condensate discovery last year.

Upstream was told the supermajor has set its sights on drilling the Kloofpadda prospect in the northeast of Block 11B/12B, a structure that covers 400 square kilometres and which — like Brulpadda in the Paddavissie fairway — will be drilled on 2D seismic data.
