Malaysia's Petronas is due to begin production from its Garagol Deniz West field in the Turkmenistan sector of the Caspian Sea, eight years after a platform jacket was installed offshore.

The jacket for an unmanned drilling and production platform was installed in 2013, but the topsides was only put in place last week.

Construction of the platform has been managed by Turkish building contractor ILK Insaat Taahut.

Production from the field in Block 1 is set to peak at 10,000 barrels per day of oil and 35 million cubic feet per day of gas.
