Turkmenistan is gearing up to try to attract international players to explore and develop resources in its portion of the Caspian Sea, with a series of roadshows planned for next year.

State entities for oil, gas and geology Turkmengas, Turkmennebit and Turkmengeology are, with support from UK energy consultancy Gaffney, Cline & Associates, launching the international roadshows beginning in the first quarter.

The first event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dubai Creek Heights on 24 and 25 February, with a similar event planned for London in July.

“The upcoming event has been designed to continue the regional dialogue on further sustainable development of hydrocarbon reserves of the country and attract foreign investment into the energy sector of Turkmenistan via panel sessions and workshops focusing on proposed projects”, the organising company said in a statement.

The two-day roadshow programme includes proposals for offshore licenses, brownfield development for the secondary production phases, investment opportunities for hard-to-develop fields, the next stage of the giant Galkynysh gas field and other investment projects.

It also includes gas chemicals production in Turkmenistan.
