US contractor Dril-Quip has been awarded a provisional contract for subsea equipment related to the drilling of a gas exploration well in the Offshore Sydney basin, Australia.

The Seablue-1 well - previously called Baleen-1 - is planned to be drilled in 125 metres of water about 30 kilometres south-south east of the city of Newcastle by a joint venture comprising Advent Energy (operator, 85%) and Bounty Oil and Gas (15%).
