The world’s largest offshore crane vessel has lifted into place the final topsides for the $3 billion redevelopment of the TotalEnergies-operated Tyra field in Danish waters.

Heerema Marine Contractors’ heavy-lift vessel Sleipnir lifted the 17,000-tonne process module into place on Tuesday morning, project partner Noreco said.

The company claimed the operation is a world record for the heaviest crane lift conducted at sea.

All eight platforms for the major gas project are now in their final position and in the coming weeks Sleipnir will lift and install two bridges and a flare to complete the campaign.
