Beacon Offshore’s Winterfell oil discovery in the US Gulf of Mexico could hold 200 million barrels of recoverable oil, double previous estimates and paving the way for an even larger subsea development.
Phase one of Winterfell will involve a five-well subsea tie-back to an existing production facility, but it is unclear which one as negotiations are still under way.
