Dallas-based Kosmos Energy has reiterated the Winterfell deep-water oilfield project in the US Gulf of Mexico is on target for a final investment decision in mid-year 2022.

Winterfell will be an subsea development tied back to an existing production facility, but the joint venture owners have not yet decided which host facility will be used.

"We’re in negotiation with several opportunities at the moment," said Kosmos Energy chief executive Andy Inglis in the company's quarterly conference call.
