Commercial bids have been submitted to French supermajor Total by a pack of contractors striving to secure a $2 billion contract to build upstream facilities for the long-delayed Tilenga oilfield project in Uganda.

Sources close to the development told Upstream the bidders include Fluor with China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Company, McDermott International with the engineering arm of China's Sinopec, Petrofac, China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), TechnipFMC, and Hyundai E&C.
