Chinese contractor Jereh Oil & Gas Engineering has won a contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services for Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco).

The $316 million contract aims to enhance gas facilities across several gas fields in southern Bahrain, marking an expansion of Jereh’s presence in the Middle East.

Under the agreement, Jereh will deliver seven natural gas booster stations within 34 months.

Bapco is aiming to help the fields achieve a collective natural gas processing capacity of nearly 900 million cubic feet per day.

The enhanced gas throughput will primarily support industrial operations, including power utilities and refineries, Jereh said.

Jereh recently completed the EPC services for Kuwait Oil Company’s Jurassic Production Facilities 5 project (JPF-5), under a contract valued at 2.7 billion yuan ($373 million).

The Chinese contractor is also making strides in Iraq’s energy sector, having taken on a role in the development of the Mansouria natural gas field in Diyala province, in partnership with Petro Iraq.
