South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has beaten off domestic and international competition to win the $545 million contract to construct the field control station (FCS) – the main platform facility – for Chevron’s Jansz-Io field deep-water development offshore Western Australia.

DSME will build the FCS that will supply power to the Jansz-Io subsea facilities at its Okpo yard on Geoje Island. Delivery is scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2025.

The company has had a bumper start to the year, also landing two liquefied natural gas carriers for Maran Gas with the combined orders worth some $970 million.
