Mellitah Oil & Gas, the Eni-led operator of Libya’s Bouri Gas Utilisation (BGU) project, is due to start assessing pre-qualification documents next month submitted by players competing for an important technical consultancy services (TCS) contract.

BGU involves the revamp and upgrade of existing facilities at the shallow-water Bouri field in order for gas to be exported to an onshore plant at Mellitah.

The development aims to eliminate flaring of about 120 million cubic feet per day of gas rich in carbon dioxide, with the gas exported to the onshore Mellitah terminal in Libya via the existing Sabratha platform.
