Equinor has started the subsea installation campaign at its giant Bacalhau pre-salt field offshore Brazil, as the Norwegian oil major takes another step to bring the Santos basin development on stream in 2025.

The engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract is being carried out by the Subsea Integration Alliance — a joint venture between Subsea7 and OneSubsea.

According to Equinor, the construction flex-lay vessel Seven Pacific started the installation of marine equipment that will be part of the subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines system.
