Equinor has awarded almost $260 million-worth of contracts after pulling the trigger on a pair of discoveries in the Norwegian Sea.

The state-controlled operator and its partners, including TotalEnergies, have sanctioned development of the Lavrans and Kristin Q discoveries, which together form phase one of the Kristin South project.

The first phase will involve estimated capital expenditure of Nkr6.5 billion ($760 million), with three oil and gas contracting stalwarts sharing in deals worth a total of Nkr2.2 billion ($257 million).
