A full and final investment decision on Total’s $16 billion Uganda oil project will be delayed at least to the middle of next year, as the French supermajor grapples with financing of the export pipeline set to run through neighbouring Tanzania.

Mary Goretti, Uganda’s Minister of Energy, told an online conference last week: “We sincerely hope that the final investment decision will be taken towards the first half of 2021."
