US independent Kosmos Energy is set to fire up development drilling at its Ceiba and Okume fields in Equatorial Guinea in the next quarter, with an exploration drilling campaign lined up for 2022.

The company is also refining a development plan for its Asam discovery that is due to be a subsea tie-back to a floating production, storage and offloading vessel at Ceiba, which handles production from two tension-leg wellhead platforms at Okume.

Drilling offshore Equatorial Guinea was put on hold last year due to coronavirus pandemic-related issues and costs cutting.
