The South Lokichar asset covers a number of discoveries in blocks 10BB and 13T in arid Turkana County in north-west Kenya.

Tullow has a 50% operating interest in the acreage and is partnered by Africa Oil and French supermajor Total, each with 25% stakes.

However, both Total and Africa Oil appear to be keen to reduce their stakes in the asset, with China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) — already a partner in Uganda — said to be a potential farm-in candidate.
