Qatar's North Oil Company (NOC) has cancelled the tender process for at least two substantial offshore contracts involving the further development of its Al Shaheen oilfield.

Two people close to the development told Upstream that NOC recently informed bidders that tenders for Al Shaheen export scheme optimisation (ESO) project have been quashed.

However, NOC has not elaborated on the reasons behind the cancellation, one person pointed out.

Qatar’s NOC is a joint venture between state-owned giant Qatar Petroleum (QP) and France's Total.
